Mr. Baviskar

In Nashik, Mr. Baviskar — completed in 2019 — is an interior designed around the particular use it was built to serve. Space planning came first — a clear organisation of use, movement, and privacy within the existing structure — before any material or finish was chosen. Texture, light, and a restrained material palette give the space its character, favouring quality of detail over decoration.

The space was designed to support its daily use first, with atmosphere and character following from that clarity of purpose. In the end, it is measured less by its elevation than by how naturally it has been taken up by the people who use it.
